I love to collect books more than I have time to read them. Some of these books are beautiful to own whereas others help understand technique, process and palette.
Here is a guide to useful artist books to help you develop your painting style and give you an insight into how professional artists work. There are so many contextual art theory books which are great if you're interested in the history of art but not useful in practical references.
A lot of these books I mention have step-by-step introductions to process, technique and palette. Some of them also have online resources to watch the artists themselves paint - great for visual learners!
