Cheshire Art Classes is Expanding! We’re thrilled to introduce our brand-new 8-week oil painting course in a stunning new location—The Five Villages Hall. This beautiful venue allows us to extend our classes to the other side of Chester, offering more people the chance to explore the art of oil painting in a friendly and relaxing environment. Don't worry - our Farndon Oil Painting Morning & Evening Class will stay exactly the same. Phew! Who is this course for? This morning class is perfect for beginners and amateur artists who want to learn how to paint with oils in a sociable and supportive setting. What to Expect: Over the first 8-week course, we’ll all work together on a still life oil painting—an ideal starting point to explore: 🎨 Colour mixing and understanding your palette 🖌️ Applying and layering oil paint on canvas 👩‍🎨 Techniques & demonstrations in a group setting As we’ll all be painting the same subject, there will be plenty of opportunities for guided instruction and hands-on learning. After completing the first 8 weeks, Wednesday morning sessions will become more flexible—students can choose their own subjects, whether it’s landscapes, architecture, animals, portraits, or anything else! About Your Tutor: This course is professionally tutored by artist Dan Bethell, who will guide you every step of the way. Materials Provided: ✔️ A3 canvas ✔️ All essential painting materials* Students must bring their oil painting brushes and an apron to each session. Recommended brush lists can be found on our blog.
